Does Orthodontic Insurance Cover Braces for a 19 years Old Person?
My parents have taken orthodontic insurance from Delta Dental (Florida) and it states that I can opt for orthodontic treatment for up to 18 years of age. I need to get braces on because I find that my teeth are misaligned and it gives me a vampire kind of a look. I turned 19 couple of weeks ago and does that mean that I am no longer eligible for the treatment expenses? The insurance coverage has another 2 and half months to end and that would be in the month of July, 2011.
My question is that if I am covered until the coverage period ends, is it possible for the orthodontist to bill the half amount of braces expenses to the insurance company and the rest of amount would be paid by myself? Kindly suggest me?
